One day I sat, on the verge of tears, and just prayed.

I was about a month into my new efforts whenever my mom first noticed a change in my appearance and asked, “Are you still doing that thing you said you were going to?” I cautiously responded that I was, inwardly preparing myself to be blitzed by questions, or a statement that she was glad it was working for me, followed by excuses for how it could never work for her.
But instead, she surprised me.

Ummmmm, what?!
So I quickly launched into telling her how much energy I have and how I can never imagine going back to how I was before, how I still get to have all of my favorite foods and don’t have to juggle with calculating how much of this or that I can eat in order to lose weight and keep it off for good.
I could see the light dawning in her eyes as she listened to me excitedly tell her how much had changed for me in only a month, and she said that I looked noticeably thinner than I had since before my daughter was born (which was almost three years before!).
